Pupils begin their Modern Languages journey with French and later add Spanish, giving them a strong foundation for secondary school and beyond. Lessons are lively and interactive, involving games, role-play, songs, and conversations that build confidence in speaking.
As children progress, they develop vocabulary, reading, and writing skills in both languages while also exploring the wider French- and Spanish-speaking world. Trips such as the school ski visit provide opportunities to practise French in real-life situations. By the end of Year 6, pupils are confident, enthusiastic linguists with a love for languages and cultures.
