At Broughton Manor Prep School, we believe that developing leadership skills is an essential part of a child’s education. From Reception through to Year 6, children are encouraged to take on responsibilities, contribute their ideas, and develop confidence in themselves and others.
Leadership opportunities are woven throughout school life. Pupils begin their journey with roles such as Class Captains, where they learn the value of teamwork and communication. As they progress, they can aspire to more formal positions including Head Boy and Head Girl, their Deputies, and House Captains for our four school houses. These roles help to shape our school community and give children the chance to lead by example.
Our School Council and Mental Health Champions empower pupils to represent their peers and promote wellbeing, while Subject Ambassadors take on responsibilities within individual departments, supporting both staff and fellow students.
By offering a wide range of leadership opportunities, we nurture initiative, responsibility, and self-belief — qualities that prepare our pupils not only for their next schools but for life beyond the classroom.
