Teaching Assistant – Prep Department (Key Stage 2)
40 hours per week – 46 weeks per annum (NB this is not a term time only post)

Role Summary
To support the teaching staff with the learning and wellbeing of all pupils, in all curriculum subjects, and with other duties such as lunch and after school care
To be responsible for the day-to-day education, safety, and welfare of the pupils, during on-site and off-site activities.
To cover lessons in the teacher’s absence as required (planning and organisation provided)
Must be able to drive a people carrier
To attend and support PE staff on fixtures and sporting events (sports day etc)
To cover break, lunch, morning and evening duties as required on the rota
To uphold the excellent standards of achievement, progression, and personal growth of all pupils
Key Skills
- sensitivity and understanding for building good relationships with children and staff
- knowledge, understanding and understanding of the Key Stage Two curriculum
- excellent skills in English and mathematics
- excellent verbal communication skills for motivating children to learn
- active listening skills to understand the children’s’ needs
- patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations

- the ability to create the best conditions for learning or teaching new things
- to be able to carry out basic tasks on a computer or device

Essential Requirements:
You must have:
Experience in working with children, preferably in a school setting
Drivers License
Excellent level of English and mathematical skills
