About Us
School Aims
- Our guiding principle has always been to create a happy environment where children matter most and can extend their potential to the full.
- We aim to develop academic excellence by providing the highest educational standards within a broad curriculum and by ensuring that all children participate in activities which they enjoy.
- We teach children to respect themselves, other people and the world around them. We value excellent standards of behaviour and courtesy which are an accepted part of school life.
- We aim to give our children the best preparation for their senior school life and beyond, so that when they leave us, they have the confidence to build on the academic and personal foundations we have helped to establish.
About Broughton Manor Prep School
Broughton Manor Preparatory School is situated on the east side of Milton Keynes City (near junction 14 of the M1).
Our Nursery is based in the Manor House, within the grounds of the Preparatory School. It provides a warm, safe, and nurturing atmosphere for children from 2 months to 3 years of age.
We have an Early Years professional led staff team consisting of qualified and experienced practitioners. Many of our practitioners have 10 plus years of service.
The Nursery is surrounded by beautiful outdoor spaces, where the children have access to a large lawned area, sandpits, outdoor kitchen, and our Spinney. We are committed to creating a happy and caring atmosphere for the children in our care and provide a rounded learning environment in which children thrive.
Our Nursery was graded ‘OUTSTANDING’ in our most recent ISI Inspection in 2017.
Our Pre-Preparatory Department provides care and education for children between the age of 2½ to 7 years.
Situated in the main school building, our Pre-Prep classes provide the best possible start for your child’s education. The classrooms are light, bright, and colourful and all have access to the outdoors. Our subject specific teaching begins from the age of 3, to include music, computing studies, PE and drama, and our long serving teaching staff are enthusiastic, inspirational, and fun. We provide the perfect setting to develop happy, independent, and well-rounded children.
Our Prep Department is structured to ensure that the changing needs of the children are met as they progress up through the school. The warm, family atmosphere allows the children to feel confident and safe, which, combined with our enthusiastic and welcoming staff, provides the perfect learning environment.
Children enter our Prep Department predominately from Pre-Prep, however, pupils new to the school settle in quickly and often comment about the kind and welcoming culture of our school. Our small class sizes enable a bond between the pupils and their form teachers, keeping the children’s personal development and well-being a priority.
Our Prep Department curriculum builds on the foundations laid in Pre-Prep and offers an exciting and engaging curriculum taught by long serving, qualified teachers. Children in our Prep Department are specialist taught across the curriculum, including maths, English, science, humanities, art, music, design & technology, PE and Games and languages.
At the end of Year 6, our children leave us confident, resilient, and equipped with the personal and academic skills they will need for the next stage of their education.
Our School was graded ‘EXCELLENT’ in our most recent ISI Inspection in 2017.
“Broughton Manor Preparatory School is not just a building, it’s a place where hopes and dreams become a reality”.
Lead Inspector, ISI, 2017
“The teachers at Broughton Manor Prep go above and beyond for the welfare and education of the children at the school.
I have experienced first-hand how they support individual children’s needs to ensure they have the best experience at school. The after-school activities are varied and inclusive of all children’s abilities and interests.
As a parent, you feel an active part of the school and can quickly build good rapport with all teachers, parents and other children at the school. We all love it.”
