Sport

At Broughton Manor, all children participate in PE and Games, fixtures and competitions and we have a fantastic track record of sporting success. Children foster a love for physical activity – after all, it’s a great chance to get out of the classroom and run around, and sport is fantastic for our mental health.

During the year in PE, children learn a variety of sporting skills like cartwheels in gymnastics, lay-ups in basketball, swimming strokes, volleys in tennis, jumps in athletics to name but a few. In our Sports Halls or out on the spacious Astro turf, children develop individual skills and resilience, and a love of sport.

Further up the school, children are given the opportunity to develop their knowledge and skills in rugby, hockey, football, netball and cricket.  This is when they get out and about to other schools for fixtures, tournaments and competitions. All children in the Prep Department, regardless of ability, have the opportunity to represent the school in sports fixtures against other school teams, enabling them to develop their teamwork and communication, resilience and respect.
