Prep Department

Welcome to the Preparatory Department (Key Stage 2) at Broughton Manor Preparatory School; a newly purpose-built area, with direct access to the school’s Spinney and Manor House gardens, which provides the perfect environment for our Year 3 to Year 6 children (age 7-11).

The transition to the Prep Department marks the next exciting stage of your child’s education.  Here the pupils’ learning is extended and enhanced with the introduction of specialist teachers who provide an outstanding education in all subjects.

Within the Preparatory Department, we understand that every child is unique and so strive to build confident and enthusiastic learners through a broad variety of learning experiences. We provide academic rigour in all the core subject areas, and through additional subjects such as Current Affairs, well-being, environmental studies, languages, Computing and PE, where every individual is encouraged and challenged to achieve their very best.

Each year group enjoys frequent academic trips to reinforce classroom learning, as well as our popular residential trips which include an annual ski trip to Europe, and PGL adventure trips, so there is always something to look forward to.

Every area of the Preparatory curriculum aims to enhance our children’s experiences, academically, culturally and emotionally.  Our dedicated staff work closely with the pupils and their families to ensure each child gets the very best out of their time both in and out of the classroom.
