Residential Trips
At Broughton Manor we take pride in providing an all-round education for our pupils. We give all our children in the Preparatory Department the chance to stay away from home, some for the first time, on a fun filled and exciting adventure holiday. All our residential trips are thoroughly risk assessed and run by trained and experienced staff, so you can be sure that your child will enjoy every moment.
Each year, children in Years 3-6 are invited to take part in activity-based holidays run separately from the school curriculum. These trips are optional and are charged separately from school fees.
Ski Trip
At Broughton Manor we offer children in Years 3-6 the opportunity to go on an annual ski trip during the Spring term. The trip offers so much; not only do children learn or improve their skiing, but they become more independent, build resilience, develop new friendships and experience a wide range of activities in a beautiful French mountain setting. The ski trip has become very popular and many children cannot wait to sign up again for the next trip as soon as they get back to school.
PGL Trip
In October, pupils in Years 4–6 have the opportunity to join us on our residential PGL trip. They take part in activities ranging from zipwire to horse riding. Providing first time experiences for many children, this trip allows them to develop self–confidence and independence in a safe, and challenging environment.
Year 3 Residential Trip to Grafham Water Activity Centre
Pupils in Year 3 are invited to visit Grafham Water Activity Centre in Cambridgeshire for an overnight residential trip at the end of the Spring term. These two days are packed full of exciting activities including team building, archery, climbing and evening entertainment. This trip encourages self–reliance and helps children to form lasting bonds of friendship which will stay with them throughout their time at Broughton Manor.
Pre-Prep Department
All children have a curriculum-related trip every term. In addition, visitors are invited into school to talk to children about different professions or learning themes. Recent visitors have included doctors, dentists, policemen, firemen, reptiles and creepy crawlies, a mobile farm and hatching chicks.
Here are some examples of the Trips and Visits in the Pre-Preparatory Department:
Build-a-Bear | Cadbury’s World |
Dunstable Downs | Gulliver’s Farm & Dino Park |
National Space Centre | Higgins Museum |
Howe Park Woods | Mead Open Farm |
Milton Keynes Museum | Northampton Shoe Museum |
Whipsnade Zoo | Roald Dahl Museum |
“The teachers at Broughton Manor Prep go above and beyond for the welfare and education of the children at the school.
I have experienced first-hand how they support individual children’s needs to ensure they have the best experience at school. The after-school activities are varied and inclusive of all children’s abilities and interests.
As a parent, you feel an active part of the school and can quickly build a good rapport with all teachers, parents and other children at the school. We all love it. “
